For people who have the healthy exercise and sketching habit

Sketchercise is for people who enjoy sketching AND taking exercise to maintain or improve their health outside a gym!

Hi Sorry i haven't had any input of late. I have been reading and admiring the mushrooms and birds though! The weather here is still pretty miserable. Most days have been low cloud and grey which is just so crap for any kind of outdoor art work or…

Hello Pat, The blog address is still the same (www.draw-a-tree.com). I have "bought" that domain name and want to stay there because the url is very effective. For that reason I could not continue with blogger blog. I have lost all comments in the t…

Martin, do you have the same blog address or will that change? I sent you a comment viva my blog site comments but I don't know if that works any more.

There have been a couple of other issues as well. I did not use the new blogger, but the old as I wanted to edit the sidebar by hand. Also I installed a German theme :)..etc.. But in the meantime I am almost there,a few more tweaks and it looks pret…

Thank you Katherine, for organizing the ‘tab’ page on The Art of the Landscape – I was having the odd problem tracking down various topics that have come up in our tangential discussions. I also wanted to tell you I really appreciate the mention un…

Welcome back Katherine. I'm sorry for my absence, too. I have worked all week and even took a painting on Yupo class so I hope I will get back to sketching, especially now that we will have a few days of sunshine with no rain till next Tuesday. My w…

I'm sorry to hear it went poorly. I wonder if it's because you're using FTP in the first place. All of my Blogger stuff is stored somewhere in the Blogger universe. Did you start your blog a long time ago? I had a blog about two or three years ago o…

Unfortunately my import attempts were in vain. Nothing went :). I had to import the posts via Rss file from my hard disks and lost of course all tags, all comments etc...So the coming evening hours are booked for that. It seems you were more clever…

Walking fast, sketching later

I'm taking a different path from the rest of my fellow sketchercisers--- for now, at least. I walk very fast for an hour to an hour- and- a- half, three times a week. I have my dog with me and this rapid clip is as much for her sanity as for mine. We both do better all day if we've been physically challenged early in the morning!
I've started to search for and collect 2 or 3 fallen or discarded objects that strike my fancy each time I walk. These I tuck into a small shoulder bag and take home to… Continue

Sketching Machu Picchu

This painting was started on location just below the Guardian’s Hut near the top of the archaeological site. I don’t know the number of steps, but the climb took about half an hour from the site entrance, and I think the vertical rise is about 250 m. Anyway the view was spectacu… Continue

Sketchercise is now BY INVITATION ONLY

Activity to maintain your health or become healthier doesn't need to be done in a gym. This group is for people who enjoy sketching from life (no photos!), have already developed the sketching habit AND have found ways of getting out and about and exercising with a sketchbook. Walk or cycle or paddle your own canoe - it doesn't matter what form of exercise, so long as it involves activity and sketching!

This group is for people with the Sketchercise habit and is now invitation only. In future, invites may be offered to people who are active on Sketchercise on Flickr for those people who would like to give Sketchercise a try - but haven't yet developed the habit. We also review your nominated website/blog for evidence of your sketching while taking exercise.
